Teacher Appreciation Lunch

Let's show our appreciation to the teachers and staff with some "Crock Pot Love" (aka a soup and salad lunch) on November 15, 2018!
This has been a long time favorite because of all of the great cooks we have in our community, and we want to keep that up. Sign up to bring in a crock pot full of soup (to serve approx. 10 people) or a salad or a dessert (each to feed approx 10-12 people).

AES/PTO Food Drive 2018
November 12th-16th

Fall is finally upon us and that means it is time for AES' annual canned food drive benefiting North Fulton Community Charities.

This year's food drive is scheduled for the week prior to the Thanksgiving break: Monday, November 12th - Friday, November16th. A flyer identifying NFCC's most needed items will be sent home with students.

Our goal is to collect at least 2300 canned food and non-perishable items during the drive. A few parent volunteers are also needed each morning of the drive to help count, sort, and tally items collected.

If you are available and willing to help, please sign-up here.

For questions regarding the food drive, please contact Jennifer Jones at jjones2521@gmail.com or Erika Bailey at erikabailey24@gmail.com.

Spirit Night at Zaxby’s

Join fellow AES families at Zaxby’s on Old Milton Parkway, Monday, November 26th for Spirit Night. Starting at 5:00pm, whether you dine in or carry out, take a night off cooking and help support AES! A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit our school.

AES 4TH & 5TH Grade Book Club

Registration is still open for students and volunteers who are interesting in joining the 4th & 5th Grade Book Club! Book Club discussions will be held in 4th and 5th grade classrooms over a lunch period in November, December, February and March.
We are looking for more volunteers to help lead these fun half hour discussions and assist with book distribution.
If your student is interested in joining Book Club or if you are interested in volunteering, please contact Erin Weston-Poteralski at erinpoteralski@gmail.com.
Thanks to all who have registered and volunteered! Information and dates will be emailed next week.

Fall has arrived and the temperatures are changing!  Check out our new cold weather spirit wear items.  Don't forget that every Friday is Spirit Wear Day at AES. Participation can help your child's class win prizes in the surprise contest each month!

If you have questions about spirit wear please contact Alison Crain at alisonfraleigh@yahoo.com.

Join the PTO!

By joining the PTO as a family member, staff or community partner and making a donation, you help us meet our school's needs that are outside the scope of the budget.

The AES PTO is proud to have been able to:

Resurface Basket Ball Courts   -   Purchase Classroom Computers   -   Provide Extra Grants & Supplies to Teachers    -  Purchase Classroom Libraries   -   Provide Lunch & Treats for Staff

We also make a difference by purchasing food for students who would otherwise not have enough to eat during the holiday breaks, buying school supplies, and paying for field trips. Our students love the book fair, so we make sure to purchase books for those students who normally would not be able to.

These are just a few examples of the many things PTO is able to do with your help!

Contributing to the PTO truly makes a difference and puts a smile on children's faces!

When you go a step further and volunteer to help with events—or join our board— you set a fine example for our students to follow, and greatly encourage our teachers and staff.

If you have questions about becoming a member of the PTO, please contact Alison Crain at alisonfraleigh@yahoo.com.

The PTO strives to support the students, parents and education at Alpharetta Elementary School by promoting a sense of community through fundraisers, events and give-back programs.

EagleFest, Boosterthon, Flying 5K Run, Movie Night, Bingo, Parent Night

All of these activities add in a positive way to the AES experience for all of us. The PTO plans, organizes, staffs and operate dozens of activities each year.  It takes the continued commitment of a lot of people to make all of the activities a reality.

Please consider volunteering to help with one or two of the activities listed below.  By volunteering you will be helping the PTO, the school, your child and yourself. None of the activities gets done without PTO volunteers like you.  Each activity requires a team effort for success and anytime you can give is great!

Please contact Stephanie Scher at stevieanner@gmail.com to volunteer.
